The apartment house on Chodská Street was built in 1898 by builder Gustav Papež based on designs by architect František Krásný. In 1928, the building was expanded by builder Josef Krejbich, adding a fifth floor and attic. In 2021, the building underwent extensive renovation, including complete restoration of the façade, roof, elevator, staircase, attic, and all main utilities.
The architectural style of the building corresponds to late historicism, specifically neo-Renaissance, with possible early Art Nouveau influences. Typical features include symmetrical facades, rich stucco decoration, and ornamental details, which were common in the urban design of late 19th-century Vinohrady. The NOVA ET VETERA project builds upon this foundation by bringing 23 modern apartments with layouts of 1+kk and 2+kk into the revitalised building.
The Chodská 28 project is located in one of Prague’s most desirable districts—Royal Vinohrady. The peaceful street connects Korunni Avenue and Sady Svatopluka Čecha, offering a harmonious environment within walking distance of parks, cafés, restaurants, metro and tram stations, shops, and cultural venues.
